The Bank Account of Life


•Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400.

•It carries over no balance from day to day.

•Every “evening” deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.

•Each of us has such a “bank”. It’s name is TIME.

•Each night it burns the remains of the day.

ABC of positive living.Simple things you can do to find happiness.

Attitude: If you have a positive attitude towards life, everything else will follow.

Be better: In whatever you do, at work or at home, strive to perform the task better than last time you did it. Learn something new each day. Goodness is a deep gorge, which human has been discovering since time Immemorial. The more deep you go, the better it gets.

Cry: when you are sad, crying is your body's way of letting go.

Decisions: Make wise decisions and stick to them. The decisions you make today affect the life you'll live tomorrow.

Encouragement: Make it a habit to encourage yourself and others, especially when things aren't going well. Be a source of strength to those around you. Its best to do and not to tell, than to tell and not to do it.

Friends: Make new friends, keep old ones, and let go those who are a negative influence in your life.

Giving: Do something for someone for free. Feel the satisfaction of bringing joy to someone else's life. There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.

Holiday: Now and then we all need a break from the stress that comes with daily living. If you can't afford to travel, why not spend a weekend at a friend or relative's house or at a nearby lodge? The change of environment will do you good.

Inspiration: Surround yourself with people who are motivating and inspiring- the chances are it will rub off on you. Write down your goals and your favorite inspirational quotes and stick them where you can see them everyday.

Jokes: Laughter has been known to reduce stress, so laugh a lot. Buy a book of funny jokes and read them when you are feeling low.

Kindness: This is a virtue that's hard to find these days. Cultivate it and you'll be as rare as a diamond.

Love: "love is patient and kind. It does not envy or boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails" This wonderful definition of love is found in the BIBLE in 1 Corinthians 13. See if you can match up by trying to substitute the word "love" with your name.

Move: When you fall do not stay down. Instead, get up and keep moving, no matter how difficult it may seem. Always try to make good perspective and manner a part of life.


Nature: Enjoy nature. There's so much to learn about it. Take care of the world and the environment around you as you would take care of a house you are proud of. Do not litter and destroy nature-you are not creating employment but poverty.

Opportunities: Keep your mind and your eyes open for new opportunities. Sometimes they present themselves in areas where we least expect them. Grab them before someone else does, and don’t let fear stop you.

Pray: A conversation with your maker is worth every minute. Make time to speak to him on a regular basis, through good times and bad.

Quit Quitting: There is an Ethopian proverb that says: " Smooth seas don't make skillful sailors". Finish what you start. Don't just give up when you are faced with an obstacle.

Can I Borrow $ 25?

A woman came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find her 5-year old son waiting for her at the door.

SON: 'Mummy, may I ask you a question?'

MUM: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the woman.

SON: 'Mummy, how much do you make an hour?'

MUM: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the woman said angrily. SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'

MUM: 'If you must know, I make $ 50 an hour.'

SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: 'Mummy, may I please borrow $25?'

The mother was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.' The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.. The woman sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the woman had calmed down , and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often The woman went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door. 'Are you asleep, son?' She asked. 'No Mummy, I'm awake,' replied the boy. 'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the woman. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.' The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you Mummy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The woman saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother. 'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the mother grumbled. 'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Mummy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.' The mother was crushed. She put his arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love. If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

How to bring back Joy to work!!!!!

How to bring joy back to your work Joy at work is not a matter of working in a lavish infrastructure, earning countless dollars and partying out every night. It is rather a practice of being happy with what you are doing and more importantly for whom you are doing.
People working in the biggest companies, earning millions of dollars are not the happiest ones always. Someone working in a local company with much lesser salary can be happier. Do you remember the old days when you passed out from the college and landed up your first job?
The excitement of going to work could be seen bubbling out but as the time passed, things changed. Going to work became an obligation rather than an enjoyment. Do you realise what changed in these few years?
Here are some tips to help you regain that joy in your work:
1. Be realistic
We often have a habit of setting unrealistic goals for ourselves. We expect more than what we are capable of and when we are not able to meet our goals, depression seeps in and the work becomes a source of unhappiness rather than joy.
See, if you also aimed to touch skies overnight. If yes, set S.M.A.R.T goals for yourself. SMART here means: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely.

2. Turn to the office with a right mindset
Enter your office with a positive mindset about your work, colleagues and employer.
Bearing negative thoughts about your workplace will not only hamper your performance but will not let you like your work.

3. Maintain a good rapport with everyone at office
This is something said ad-nauseam times but not practiced very often. The best way to do is to maintain an open communication with your boss and colleagues.
Practice small things like helping people wherever you can, pass a gentle smile as you see a colleague and you will see that you will always have some to help or advice you when needed.

4. Try to fix the problems rather than complaining
Most of us have a habit of sitting and criticising things.
Rather than just discussing the problems around it will be a better idea to find a solution to them. This will not only create a healthy work atmosphere but also give you a sense of achievement.

5. Focus on your KPAs
Many of us feel that we are doing a lot of work which is not recognised. This acts as a source of depression at work.
The best way to come out of such a situation is to focus on your Key Performance Areas.
If you do everything but your actual job, your performance will never be appreciated. So, see if you are doing the right things.

6. Maintain transparency
If you are a boss or a senior person at your workplace, try to maintain transparency in the work culture.
Well informed employees are easier to work with and will reduce your worries. Moreover, you will see that they will stand by you in the hour of need.

7. Celebrate success with juniors

Keep patting for the next batting.
Celebrate success with the junior members of your team. If they are happy and motivated, half of your worries will evaporate themselves.
Also, such informal gatherings bring your team members closer and increase the compatibility quotient.

8. Accept new challenges and risks
A common feature of most of the happy professionals around.
This will give you not only the joy of recognition but also a feeling of satisfaction. Identify new challenges and volunteer to handle them.
If you are offered an opportunity to handle any new project which might be totally new for you, accept the challenge and do all that is required to make it successful.


9. Stay away from dirty politics
Dirty office politics will not let you do your actual job affecting your performance, will keep your colleagues away from you and won't let you think constructively.
So, keep away from politics and blame game. If you have committed a mistake, accept it gracefully and learn to correct it.

10. Take a rejuvenating break from work
There will be times when even after practicing all the above mentioned things you will feel exhausted. This is an indication from your body that it needs rest.
So, take a break and rejuvenate yourself for the next inning.

AM I THE RIGHT PARTNER?

During a seminar, a woman asked," How do I know if I am with the right person?" the author then noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so he said, "It depends. Is that your partner?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?" Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind replied the author. Here's the answer.Every relationship has a cycle...In the beginning; you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love.People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet." Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU. Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love fades. It's a natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage. At this point, you and/or your partner might start asking, "Am I with the right person?" And as you reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when relationships breakdown.The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found.People blame their partners for their unhappiness and look outside for fulfillment. Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most common. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your relationship. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this): “The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found”.
SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work. Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your partner). Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. If you know and apply these laws, the results are predictable. Love is therefore a "decision". Not just a feeling.
Remember this always:
“God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let GO!!”

IT'S CALLED MINDSET

As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped,confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a rope tied to their legs. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

"Well" he said, " when they are young and very much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free". My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't they were stuck right where they were. The powerful and gigantic creatures has limited its present abilities by the limitations of its past.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life holding onto a belief that we cannot do something simply because we failed at it once before? How many of us refuse to attempt something new and challenging because of our so called Mindset?

Our attempt may fail, but still we should never fail to make an attempt.

AND

We should not choose to accept the false boundaries and limitations created by the past.

Reverse Mortgage
Reverse Mortgage can be well defined as “a scheme under which a bank or financial institution permits the owner of a house to leverage the future value of the asset into a steady source of income”. Reverse Mortgage allows elderly people to have a steady stream of income by mortgaging self occupied property to banks or eligible financial institutions while continuing to live in and hold the title of the house till he is alive or sells the house or moves out.

In this case it is completely parents’ desire whether to go for reverse mortgage or not. But being their children we can do something for them. Normally parents will write their property in their children’s name even if they don’t have enough money to lead a peaceful life. Instead of making advantage of this situation we can advise them to go for Reverse mortgage, later if you want to retain the house you can pay back the money to bank and do it.

Health Insurance
Health care costs are high and getting higher day by day. As the age of an individual increases the health care costs increase manifold and become a burden on the individual. Senior citizens have to pay out of their hard earned savings to meet the expenses. Health Insurance Plans protects old age people in case they need expensive medical care. You get cashless benefit or medical reimbursement for hospitalization expenses due to illness or accidents.

It is our responsibility to take care of our parents’ health when they are old. But it is very difficult to manage this situation without proper financial planning because you might need huge money to take care of their health. Health Insurance is a better solution to overcome this scenario, it will take care of your parents health related expenses all you have to do is buy one health insurance plan and pay the small premium.

Pension Plans (ULIPs)
The first point to note is that there is no insurance in an ULPP, though the product is offered by insurers. Even if an insurer offers insurance cover bundled with pension, such a product is best avoided. Insurance is best taken independently from pension planning, through what are called term insurance plans. ULPP is very much an investment product, competing on costs, benefits and returns with Mutual Funds, deposits, share portfolios, and so on. In the accumulation phase, the amounts invested go towards purchase of units, at prevailing market rates. At retirement, the policyholder is provided with a certain portion of the accumulated fund as a lump sum payment. The remaining amount is used to purchase an Annuity scheme to provide regular monthly income post retirement.

Immediate Annuity
Immediate Annuity is aregular income stream purchased with a lump sum investment, where the income stream starts immediately after the purchase. Immediate Annuities are usually provided by a life insurance companies. The major difference between “immediate annuity” and “annuity” is that in immediate annuity you have to make a lump sum investment and you will start receiving the annuity immediately after purchasing it but in “annuity” you will start receiving amount only after a pre-determined period.

Annuity
An annuity is an investment that you make, either in a lump sum amount or through installments paid over a certain number of years, in return you will receive back a specific sum every year, every half-year or every month, either for life time or for a certain number of years. After the fixed period of annuity payments expires, the invested annuity fund is refunded, possibly with a small addition, calculated at that time.

Annuities differ from all the other forms of life insurance discussed so far in one basic way - an annuity does not provide any life insurance cover instead, offers a guaranteed income after your retirement. Usually annuities are meant to generate income during one’s life after retirement that is why they are also called pension plans. Annuity premiums and payments are fixed with reference to the duration of human life.

Life Annuity with purchase Price
In this kind of annuities the person receives annuities for as long as he/she lives and his/her nominee receives the purchase price of the policy after demise. The purchase price refers to the value of your investment corpus at the end of the accumulation phase (it is the amount with which the annuity was purchased).

Life Annuity without purchase Price
In Life Annuity without purchase Price the person receives annuities for as long as he/she lives his/her nominee won’t receives anything after his/her demise.

Joint Life Annuity with purchase Price
In Joint Life Annuity with purchase Price both you and your spouse will receive annuities for life. After his/her demise the purchase price will be returned to the nominee.

Joint Life Annuity without purchase Price
In Joint Life Annuity with purchase Price both you and your spouse will receive annuities for life. After the death of concerned person nothing will be returned to the nominee.

Life annuity guaranteed for 5, 10 & 15 years
In this type of annuities you receive annuities for a minimum term i.e. 5, 10 or 15 years. Annuities continue for life thereafter. If death occurs before the end of the pre-determined term, the company will pay the annuity till the end of that term to his/her nominee.

STEVE JOBS "APPLE'S OWNER"

'You've got to find what you love,' Jobs saysThis is the text of the Commencement address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, delivered on June 12, 2005.I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.The first story is about connecting the dots.I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" They said: "Of course." My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating.None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, its likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.My second story is about love and loss.I was lucky — I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation — the Macintosh — a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me — I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.My third story is about death.When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope its the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.Thank you all very much.

BEING IN TWENTIES - SOMETHING... :)

It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know andmay not like.You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely knowwhere you are now.
You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly thegreatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don'trecognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.
You look at your job... and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job andrealizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.
Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly yourealize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and whatisn't. One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure.
You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly, change is the enemy andyou try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothingto do but stay where you are or move forward.
You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder whyyou can't meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else tooand cannot figure out why you're doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person. You want to settle down for goodbecause now all of a sudden that becomes top priority. Getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic.You begin tothink a companion for life is better than a hundred in the shack and for once you would not mind standing tall for that specialsomeone which otherwise you had never thought of until now.You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, andtalk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision. You worry about loans, money, thefuture and making a life for yourself... and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender!
What you may not realize is that every one reading this relates to it.We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying ashard as we can to figure this whole thing out. Send this to your twenty-something friends.... maybe it will help someone feel likethey aren't alone in their state of confusion.

LIFE- a simpler prespective.....

Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in yourmouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationshipsare the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve thesuccess, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die. One thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. Life is not to be taken seriously, as we arereally temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may lastanother 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? It's ok,bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, fall in love. We are people, not programmed devices.

My Next Life:
My next life I want to live backwards.
I start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in an old people's home feeling better every day.
You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, and then when you start work, you get a gold watch and a party on your first day.
You work for 40 years until you are young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You party, drink alcohol and are generally promiscuous, and then you are ready for high school.
You then go to primary school, you become a kid, and you play. You have no responsilities, you become a baby until are born. And then you spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa like condition with central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day and then, Voila!
You finish off as an orgasm!

"Even this shall pass away"

Once a king called upon all of his wise men and asked them,"Is there a mantra or suggestion which works in every situation, in every circumstance, in every place and in everytime. Something which can help me when none of you is available to advise me. Tell me is there any mantra?" All wise men got puzzled by King's question. One answer for all question? Something that works everywhere, in every situation? In every joy, every sorrow, every defeat and every victory?
They thought and thought. After a lengthy discussion, an old man suggested something which appealed to all of them. They went to the king and gave him something written on paper. But the condition was that king was not to see it out of curiosity. Only in extreme danger, when the King finds himself alone and there seems to be no way, only then he'll have to see it.The King put the papers under his Diamond ring.
After a few days, the neighbors attacked the Kingdom. It was a collective surprise attack of the King's enemies. King and his army fought bravely but lost the battle. King had to fled on his horse. The enemies were following him. His horse took him far away in the Jungle. He could hear many troops of horses following him and the noise was coming closer and closer. Suddenly the Kingfound himself standing at the end of the road - that road was not going anywhere. Underneath there was a rocky valley thousand feet deep. If he jumped into it, he would be finished…and he could not return because it was a small road… The sound of enemy's horses was approaching fast. King became restless. There seemed to be no way. Then suddenly he saw the Diamond in his ring shining in the sun, and he remembered the message hidden in the ring. He opened the diamond and read the message. The message was very small but very great.The message was - "Even this shall pass away."
The King read it. Again read it. Suddenly something struck him- Yes! it too will pass. Only a few days ago, I was enjoying my kingdom. I was the mightiest of all the Kings. Yet today, the Kingdom and all his pleasure have gone. I am here trying to escape from enemies.However when those days of luxuries have gone, this day of danger too will pass. A calm come on his face. He kept standing there.The place where he was standing was full of natural beauty. He had never known that such a beautiful place was also a part of his Kingdom. The revelation of the message had a great effect on him. He relaxed and forgot about thosefollowing him. After a few minutes he realized that the noise of the horses and the enemy coming was receding. They moved into some other part of the mountains and were not on that path.The King was very brave. He reorganized his army and fought again. He defeated the enemy and regained his lost empire. When he returned to his empire after victory, he was received with much fan fare at the door. The whole capital was rejoicing in the victory. Everyone was in a festive mood.Flowers were being thrown on the King from every house, from every corner. People were dancing and singing. For a moment King said to himself," I am one of the bravest and greatest King. It is not easy to defeat me".With all the reception and celebration he saw an ego emerging in him.Suddenly the Diamond of his ring flashed in the sunlight and reminded him of the message. He open it and read it again:"Even this shall pass away."He became silent. His face went through a total change - from the egoist he moved to a state of utter humbleness.If this too is going to pass, it is not yours. The defeat was not yours, the victory is not yours.

You are just a watcher. Everything passes by we are witness of all this. We are the perceiver. Life comes and goes.Happiness comes and goes. Sorrow comes and goes.Now as you have read this story, just sit silently and evaluate your own life.. Think of the moments of joy and victory in your life. Think of the moment of Sorrow and defeat. Are they permanent? They all come and pass away. Life just passes away. There were friends in the past. They have gone.There are friends today. They too will go. There will be new friends tomorrow. They too will go.There were enemies in the past. They have gone. There may be enemies in the present. They too will go. There will be new enemies tomorrow and……they too will go.There is nothing permanent in this world. Every thing changes except the law of change. Think over it from your own perspective. You have seen all the changes. You have survived all setbacks, all defeats and all sorrows.All have passed away. If there are problems in the present, they too will pass away. Because nothing remains forever.Joy and sorrow are the two faces of the same coin. They both will pass away. Who are you in reality? Know your real face. Your face is not your true face. It will change with the time. However, there is something in you, which will not change. It will remain unchanged. What is that unchangeable?It is nothing but your true self. You are just a witness of change.

Where am I going& for what.............
Long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered. Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible. Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and
he was exhausted and was dying.
Then he asked himself, "Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."
The above story is similar with the journey of our Life.We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health ,time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.
One day when we look back,we will realize that we don't really need that much ,but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed. Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. .

Wonderful Reasoning

Saint asked his disciples, 'Why do we shout in anger?
Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?'
Disciples thought for a while, one of them said,
'Because we lose our calm, we shout for that.' 'But, why to shout when the other person is just next to you?' asked the saint.
'Isn't it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice?
Why do you shout at a person when you're angry?'
Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the saint. Finally he explained, 'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. Tocover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, thestronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.' Then the saint asked, 'What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at eachother but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close.
The distance between them is very small...' The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finallythey even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close twopeople are when they love each other.'

"When Rival turns Friends"

Well I am hoping for a possibilty there! Imagine if two of the biggest parties in the elections join hands together- What a blessing will it be for the nation? When One party claims it had done so much in its ruling......imagine a joint effort. I wonder it can do wonders for any country and specially for a developing countries- where its always hard to find a majority. I feeel its no shame either......because both of the parties are Ruling. I feel its not only good for the parties but for the nation as a whole.........an old saying " A combined effort is far better than a single effort".....I feel this is worth a try..........besides when so many unprecendated things are happening in this era....why not this one..........

RISING LOAD OF FISCAL DEFICIT

I feel one aspect which is less looked at in our budgets is "Measures towards Reducing Fiscal deficit". Fiscal deficit is increasing like anything. Our main concern should be towards reducing the deficit instead of providing sops. I feel once we reach a situation where we have no fiscal deficit, then we can go for sops as much as possible. For reducing deficit, we need to increase revenues and the biggest question is HOW? Increasing taxes or introducing new taxes. I think this is fie but i feel government can do one more thing. It can make a plan for say a period of 3-4 years. It needs to introduce a voluntary measure in which all can participate. Say, in every month one day or in every weel one day can be fixed to collect special taxes for reducing fiscal deficit. It this can be worked out, I feel it will reduce fiscal deficit. Borrowings I feel is not a solution for reducing the pain of fiscal deficit. If the tax is on a specific date or for a specific purpose and very minimal , I dont feel it will hurt anyone. Besides, we the people have been paying so many taxes(direct and Indirect) that one more tax wont hurt (provided is it for a specific purpose and low at the outset). I feel now the time has really come that the government needs to take steps to counteract the deficit. If any government can reduce deficit then people can say that the government has really done something.

SAJID Vs ASHUTOSH.....AT THE STAR SCREEN AWARDS

WELL WELL I TOTALLY AGREE WITH SAJID........It's a democratic country and everyone has their own rights to express their views and yes Sajid was doing no offence by making fun of people/stars......when in this democratic country not even the big shots...the politicians are spared at the big stage of being made fun of.
I feel its not wrong to make fun.....even if it is at award ceremony. However, it is wrongly pointed out by Ashutosh. As clearly mentioned out by Sajid that it is us( people/Audiences) who makes a star out of people.....but not the directors/producers....no matter how hard they try. It was a bit arrogant on the part of Ashutosh...to put up his views like that on the big stage. I feel it wud have been sensible had he kept quiet.
But Sajid.....Hats off to you.......in real terms......u r a real star.

dIRECT TAXES OR iNDIRECT TAXES

WELL ITS THE TALK OF THE HOUR!.
Which is best......
I feel government should go with indirect taxes....like excise, royalty etc.
The benefit with the same is ....there wud not be any revenue leakage.......
Specially from developing nations point of view.....i feel it should be strictly looked into.
The other benefit of the same is......ppl at large would be benefitted.....first the price which they pay will be uniform....and second the taxes which they will pay...will bear fruits in the form of nation's development.
